Frequently Asked Questions

When I turn my Henson on I can hear it beep but the touchscreen is not lighting up - why?

This may be caused by your computer not starting up properly (the beeps will be from the controller board) OR due to the back light on the LCD screen having gone.

Contact your service agent for further information. You can find your service agent via our Distributors page.

My touchscreen is not responding to the point where I touch - why?

This issue can be caused by two things:

  1. If the pointer is always in a certain point (usually at the edge of the screen) and then moves to a point midway between where you pressed and where it was, it means that there is something pressing on the touchscreen at the edge. This can be debris that has lodged in between the housing and the screen. To clear it you can slide a piece of normal paper between the screen and housing and pass it all the way round the edge. DO NOT do this with anything metallic as you will damage the touch screen.
  2. The touchscreen calibration is out. If the touchscreen is very far off where you press, you may need to connect a mouse to recalibrate. To do this, close all Henson software and double-click the Touchmon icon on the Desktop (or select Start > Programs > Touchscreen > Ttouchmon). Then select the Calibration (or Tools) tab and select 4 Point Cal. Press and hold on the touchscreen where prompted to reset the calibration.

I think my Henson might be dead.

Firstly check that the mains supply to the unit is OK. If it is then remove the mains cable from the socket on the underside of the unit and check the two fuses that are located in a drawer under the mains input connector. If the fuses are OK, then contact your service agent.

You can find your service agent via our Distributors page.

Remote support

In the event that you have any problems with your Henson, it is often possible for us to remote view your PC/control device in order to fix issues online.

To do this we require that the control device you are using is connected to the internet and has a remote access program running. You can download the remote client using this link. Once it is installed on your device, give the service technician the ID number and s/he will be able to view your machine and offer advice on the issue.
